2023 was again a special year for the 3rd XI as the side clinched promotion to Division 11 Knott. There were standout performances in all facets of the game – Lee Osborn had the most runs (243) and highest score for the team. Wickets from Sam Mann (12) were also key to the side’s success. Another metric for success in the 3s was the number of youngsters to have received the call to step up into the 2nd XI. Multiple appearances from Alex Bridge, Ed Chantler and Oli Thorneycroft at a higher level show how the juniors are developing. 2024 will see new opponents and new challenges for the 3rd XI, but with the quality of junior players coming through the ranks and testing themselves in adult cricket, 2024 looks set to be another successful year.
